Transport
Hedmark is within easy reach, no matter where in the south-eastern part of Norway you might be. You can get here from all directions, by car, train or plane.
The main routes from the south, from Oslo and other major ferry ports as well as from the Swedish border are the E6, Route 2 and Route 20. If Sweden is your point of departure, several routes will lead you to the county such as Røros, Drevsjø, Trysil and Kongsvinger/Magnor. From the fjords and the high mountains in the north, Route 3 will run straight through Østerdalen. From Røros you can follow Route 30. Express bus services are available for travel to and through Hedmark, and you will find a good network of local bus services. The Røros Line runs through Østerdalen, and you can catch a flight to Røros or use the airports in Oslo and Trondheim.
